We built this resource with art teachers in mind, as a way to make technology more accessible both inside and outside your classrooms.
These tools only require a web-browser. They take about a minute to get going. All have been student-tested.

Basically Photoshop but free and works in your browser. It supports layers, transparencies, effects, importing images, and exporting several different types of formats.

Oscar Keyes (he/him/his) is the Multimedia Teaching & Learning Librarian Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He holds a Ph.D in Art Education from VCU, where he researches the role of embodied learning in digital-based methods of making. He has taught digital arts in a variety of spaces, including higher education, K12 schools, summer camps, community-based arts organizations, and detention centers. When he’s not busy teaching, Keyes still makes movies with his friends, having worked on award-winning short and feature-length films.

Erika Ogier (she/they) is the Art Educator at Salem Church Elementary School in Chesterfield County, VA. She has taught visual arts from pre-k, all the way through higher education, including afterschool programs, summer camps, and even music festivals. She was named Chesterfield County Elementary Art Teacher of the year and Virginia Elementary Art Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024. She carries a deep passion for showing kids cool stuff and helping them make cool stuff of their own. When not teaching, Erika is playing video games, hanging out with her cats and forgetting to water her many houseplants.
